What happens in 'The Sandman' - Issue 3?
In issue 3 of The Sandman, titled "Dream a Little Dream of Me," Dream continues his quest to retrieve his stolen tools. This issue focuses on Dream's search for his pouch of sand, which is now in the possession of John Constantine, a British occult detective.
Dream visits Constantine and convinces him to help locate the pouch. Together, they track it to the apartment of an ex-girlfriend of Constantine's named Rachel. They find Rachel in a decrepit state, addicted to the power of the sand. Dream takes the pouch back, and in an act of mercy, puts Rachel into a peaceful, eternal sleep to end her suffering.
This issue highlights Dream's interactions with the mortal world and introduces John Constantine into the Sandman narrative.
