Writer Chris Mole (Sharp Wit & The Company of Women, The Black Rubric, Aces Weekly) has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the second collected volume of his ongoing pagan fantasy/superhero series, Brigantia.
Collecting Brigantia issues #4-#6, Volume 2 of Briantia will bring the story and saga to a close.
A 128-page full colour graphic novel about a pagan goddess thrust into the modern day by the machinations of her brother Veteris, Brigantia Vol. 2 has interior artwork and covers by Alaire Racicot (Sidequest, Crown and Anchor), colours by Rebecca Nalty (Dynamite, IDW, Vault) and lettering by Eisner-winning letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (Dark Horse, Vault, many more).
Brigantia Volume 2 was edited by Claire Napier (WWAC) and a pagan consultant, Limnaia Areia, completes the team - keeping it true to the overall inclusion of pagans.
With the book complete, the Kickstarter campaign seeks to cover the costs of the collected volume which will be self-published.
“We ended Vol. 1 on a cliffhanger with Brigantia discovering that her home, the Celtic Otherworld, had been laid to waste,” said writer Chris Mole. “In Vol. 2 we'll dig into what happened while she was trapped in the mortal realm, and really build out the mythology of her home and her fellow gods and goddesses. On top of that, her friends Anna and Pravin have their own battle to fight in our world. The stage is set for a dramatic final confrontation!”
The campaign launches on August 22nd, 2024, seeking a funding target of £3000. Available rewards include prints from a star-studded group of artists - Alison Sampson (DC Comics,
Dark Horse, IDW), Alfie Gallagher (Starcrossed, Gentleman Ghouls), Alaire Racicot & Rebecca Nalty and Carlos Pedro (Image Comics, Boom!).
Catch-up tiers (both digital and physical) will allow any backers who missed out on the first volume to pick up the entire story.
Early bird/discounted tiers will also be available for the first 24 hours of the funding period.
