French Metalcore Quartet RESOLVE Drop New Single ‘Sandman’ Ahead of »Human (Extended Cut)« Release:
French metalcore titans Resolve are back with a brand-new single, ‘Sandman’, the second taste from their upcoming »Human (Extended Cut)«, set to drop on October 25th, 2024, via Arising Empire.
Hot on the heels of their explosive single ‘Molotov’, which kicked off the extended cut cycle with a bang, ‘Sandman’ takes listeners on a darker, more haunting journey. Opening with a crushingly heavy and oppressive intro, the track slips into Resolve’s signature style—emotive, raw, and impossible to shake, particularly through its infectious chorus.
Resolve bassist Robin Mariat explained the chilling inspiration behind ‘Sandman’:
“A few months back, Anthony [Resolve's lead singer and songwriter] had a sleep paralysis episode. If you’ve never experienced it, imagine waking up at night, a terrifying figure looming over you, and you’re completely frozen. The next day, Anthony brought us the demo for Sandman—originally called 'Sleep Paralysis'—and it carries that nightmarish energy. But the choruses are filled with hope, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there’s always a light to pull us through.”
»Human (Extended Cut)« doesn’t just stop at ‘Sandman’ and ‘Molotov’. It builds on the world they created in the original album with new music, live performances (‘The Fire, The Aftermath, The Everlasting’), and the full original tracklist.
“This extended release is huge for us,” Robin continued. “We’re expanding on the themes and sound we built in Human, with tracks that cater to both our heavier side and our more melodic tendencies. There’s something here for everyone.”
Robin further emphasized the band’s ambition:
“Our only wish is for people to listen through the entire record. We believe this album has something for everyone, even if you’re not into metal. *Human* is for everyone.”
Ever since their 2017 debut ‘Exposed’, Resolve has been relentlessly chasing greatness. With viral hits like ‘Older Days’ featuring Paleface Swiss and Ten56, racking up over 3.6 million streams, and having shared the stage with heavyweights like Architects, While She Sleeps, and Underoath, they’ve proven they’re not here to play small.
