About Jendia Gammon


Jendia Gammon is the Nebula and BSFA Awards finalist author of fantasy, science fiction, and horror novels and short stories. She is a current finalist for a Nebula Award (for THE INN AT THE AMETHYST LANTERN, as J. Dianne Dotson) and two 2024 BSFA Awards (as both Jendia Gammon and J. Dianne Dotson). Jendia writes compelling characters within rich world-building. Jendia’s first horror and speculative thriller novel, ATACAMA, publishes May 13, 2025, via Sley House Publishing. Her campy horror novel, DOOMFLOWER, publishes in 2025 via Encyclopocalypse Publications.


Jendia conducts workshops and participates in panels on creative writing for international conventions. She holds a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Jendia is also a science writer and an artist. She has also written under the pen name J. Dianne Dotson (THE INN AT THE AMETHYST LANTERN; THE SHADOW GALAXY; THE QUESTRISON SAGA books). Jendia is a member of SFWA, HWA, BSFA, BFS, TWI, SCBWI, and Sisters in Crime.


Born in Southern Appalachia, Jendia now lives in Los Angeles with her family. She is married to British author Gareth L. Powell.
